Born to Korean parents in Atlanta, Georgia, Daniel Heechan Lim spent his childhood exploring various mediums of artwork. After a cross-country move to Seattle, Washington, Heechan fully immersed himself as a filmmaker:
"Filmmaking was my megaphone. This medium’s ability to let us experience unseen worlds and perspectives fueled a passion in me to share my stories with the world. It's what keeps me up at night and gets me out of bed in the morning"
A national award winner at numerous film festivals, he took a step forward internationally by gaining an internship at Hanyang Women’s University in the Department of Moving Image Design. Developing interactive experiences in Unity and connected them to the Oculus, he gathered insight into the immersive narrative capabilities of virtual reality.
Enrolled at Stanford University, Heechan will continue to immerse himself in literature, storytelling, and filmmaking.
